Entre o partir e o chegar, a espera acontece. Esta pausa é, muitas vezes, vista como um entrave a um ritmo que se quer manter no ciclo dos dias. Mas será só mesmo isso? A esta espera segue-se uma viagem física e emocional. Uma viagem que carrega em si muito mais do que um lapso de tempo entre partidas e chegadas. O que se olha para lá dos ecrãs que enganam o passar do tempo? Chegar-se-à cedo, a tempo ou tarde demais ao sonho?
Intrigada, apanhei um autocarro. Bastou-me atravessar a rua e apanhei o primeiro autocarro que apareceu. Ainda corri para não o perder. O 720 acabou por ser efectivamente esta viagem.
Acompanhando a rota de autocarro entre o Alto de Santo Amaro e a Picheleira, fui explorando visualmente a espera, a viagem, o anonimato de uma viagem e a beleza insuspeita do quotidiano. Esperei, viajei e conversei. Este trabalho resulta num conjunto de fotografias e num audio que são agora mostrados na exposição “Órbitas” com inauguração na Galeria da Fundação PLMJ.
O culminar de um percurso inesperado e surpreendente que aconteceu no contexto do Atelier de Lisboa, sob a orientação do Pedro Alfacinha.
Between departure and arrival, waiting happens.
This pause is often seen as an obstacle to the pace we try to maintain in the cycle of our days. But is it only that? What follows this waiting is both a physical and emotional journey — one that holds much more than a mere lapse of time between leaving and arriving. What lies beyond the screens we use to distract ourselves from the passing of time? Will we reach the dream too early, just in time, or too late?
Intrigued, I caught a bus. All it took was crossing the street and getting on the first bus that came along. I even ran so I wouldn’t miss it. The 720 ended up becoming exactly that journey.
Following the route of bus between Alto de Santo Amaro and Picheleira, I visually explored the wait, the journey, the anonymity of travel, and the unsuspected beauty of the everyday. I waited, I traveled, and I talked. This work results in a set of photographs and an audio piece, now presented in the exhibition “Órbitas”, opening at the Fundação PLMJ Gallery.
It marks the culmination of an unexpected and surprising journey that took place within the context of Atelier de Lisboa, under the guidance of Pedro Alfacinha.
